Former Music Director

Eric Isaacson is a member of the music theory faculty and Director of Graduate Studies at the IU
Jacobs School of Music.
He played saxophone in the Luther
College Concert Band,
Symphony
Orchestra, and Jazz Band, and in the IU Symphonic Band. He directed Luther’s Jazz Band, and is former
choir director of the St. Thomas Lutheran
Church choir in Bloomington. He has participated in wind
conducting clinics by Jared Spears and
John Paynter and studied orchestral conducting with Roger Satrang Hoel, Claude T. Smith, Douglas Meyer, Paul Boivin, and David
Itkin.
Former Associate Music Director
From 2005-2009, William Petersen was the Associate Director of Athletic Bands and Instructor of Tuba in the Department of Music at Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Virginia. In addition to those duties, he served as conductor of the University Campus Band, taught courses in theory, and performed on tuba in the Virginia Tech Faculty Brass Quintet. Mr. Petersen previously served as Assistant Director of Bands at La Porte High School in La Porte, TX. He received his Bachelor of Music Education and Master of Music in Wind Conducting degrees from Indiana University in 2002 and 2005 where he studied conducting with Stephen Pratt and tuba with Dan Perantoni. Mr. Petersen is currently pursuing the Doctor of Music degree and has served as an Associate Instructor in the Department of Bands/Wind Conducting at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music and is an active arranger and drill writer for concert and marching bands. |
